Sorry that it has been such a long time since my last post. A lot has happened recently. About two weeks ago my mom was admitted to the hospital and even placed on a respirator for a short while. Thank God she is better now. Last week Robin had her right knee replaced and she has been in a lot of pain. Please remember her in your prayers also remember Josh as he believes his job at NC State could be eliminated due to budget cuts.

Wow!

I got a check from the disability settlement for my hands. It was somewhat of a considerable sum, or so I thought. With work being down and the lawyer fees I need to pay the money is pretty much gone and there was so much I wanted to do with it. I wanted to do something special for Robin and Josh. I am afraid there will be nothing left by that time all gone to pay bills. I wonder if work will ever pick back up. I am so tired of working like a dog for a company that could care less about its employees. They take what they want and give nothing in return. I heard the other day that our Christmas vacation check will be issued the day after Christmas. They have already cut the check by 100 hours which equals @$1000 dollars. Isn’t that just wonderful. I’d like to tell them to kiss off and keep their crappy job, but in the economy the way it is that ain’t going too happen. I hate not being able to provide for my family because of being stuck there. You gotta have insurance and if I was to leave there all treatment for Robin and myself would have to be postponed at least six months and I wont deprive her of the necessary treatment she needs for her back. I guess I am just in one heck of a hole for now

Well I know it has been a while since I last posted but since I do most all the reading of this blog I can honestly say I haven’t missed much.

Last week Josh came home for fall break from school (NCSU). I really enjoyed the time we got to spend togeather. I miss him when he’s not around. I know it’s a fact of life that I am going to have to live with, chidren grow up and leave home. I know he will do well in life he has a good head on his shoulders

The big event this week is after returning to work after the weekend we were greeted by the news that we would only be working one day this week and that was today. the good thing about that is that we will signup and draw unemployment for this week. Our unemployment benift will probably be more than we would make if we worked all week, sad isn’t it. oh well there are things to do around the house i need to catch up on.

On vacation

The day started pretty much pain free something of a rarity for me. The injection from yesterday must have helped some. By afternoon a little pain but so far nothing to the extent of before the shot and I still have another injection scheduled in two weeks.

On another note I watched the Presidents speech this evening and wonder just how bad things might get. Will the bail out of Wall Street be enough to keep us out of a depression and how will we cope if there is a depression. Personally our finances have pretty much hit bottom only through God do we keep from totally losing it.

On a lighter note I watched the season opener of Criminal Minds. This show I have grown to really like. The characters have really been developed so that you have an interest in all of them not just a couple. Looks like from the start it’s going to be a real interesting season, it might even rival the CSI series.. all three. You might have heard me mention that a know some one that produced/ directed a couple of episodes although I wont mention his name for the simple fact I don’t know if he wants to be associated with me at this time in his life, or he thinks I have a hidden agenda for looking him up. Well JG I have no agenda just wanted to contact some old classmates and get reacquainted that’s all. I live here in this small town but have not forgotten my classmates especially those who have done so well for themselves. I know alot of Patrick Henry grads have done well and some not so well but we are the “class of ‘79 last of the Great Seventies” isn’t that what we called ourselves.

Well it is after midnight and the new day has begun technically. In a few hours it will be time to get  ready for another event less day at a job that seems to be going nowhere. I like what I do just no where I’m at. I have been there 23yrs worked several positions including a lead positon. Most of the people are good people and of course some are not. There has been some real changes there and more to come they say. In the past I made a good income there but now it has been cut in have and some bonus have been taken away. Also our production rates have been cut. Now I believe I make little more than a fry cook at the “Golden Arches” . I would leave in a second for another company but I am kinda jammed up due to the need for the insurance I have there, not that it is great or anything but with my wife’s and my medical treatments we cant start over with a different insurance because of our “pre-existing conditions”. So what’s a guy to do? grin and bear it I guess. Just remember us in your prayers.

Just had the first treatment on the problem with my back. The doctor said that the treatment might work right away or take 24-48 hours. the first treatment might be all required, but may need as many as 6-8 a year. The bad news is that I might never be completely pain free… bummer huh! 

I write these things on my blog thinking some one might be interest to read them. I kinda know in my mind that according to the blog stats very, very few people come here. But those that do I thank you. I hope i dont bore you if you come here. when you stop by take time to leave a comment.

Been talk online with an old friend from school. This person has really done well works out of LA. He is a writer/director/producer. Has had a very big hit movie and a series. He has work on several episode of my favorite TV show francise. He has three beautiful girls. I have written him several times and he has corresponed back, but I sense a cold distance in the last communications. Still i wish him all the best and maybe I am just reading more into the situation than there really is. I’ll just say JG way to go man!
